Summer Orchestral Course

We are delighted to confirm that the postponed  Easter Orchestral course will now take place in July.

The course is being run as an orchestral workshop by the Norfolk Centre for Young Musicians with generous financial support from the Friends of Norfolk County Youth Orchestra. Strict Covid restrictions will be in place for the safety of all our students/staff and the final performance will be live streamed.

Violins, Viola’s, Cellos, Double Bass, Flutes, Oboes, Clarinets, Bassoons, French Horns, Trumpets, Trombones, Tuba, Percussion

Programme: Rossini Overture, The Barber of Seville

Beethoven, Symphony no. 5

Sessions will run as follows:

Rehearsals

Venue: Langley School, Langley Park, Loddon, Norfolk NR14 6BJ

Rehearsal Day 1                              Sunday 4th  July 2021                         10.30am – 4.30pm

Venue: St Andrew’s Hall, Norwich NR3 1AU

Rehearsal Day 2                              Sunday 18th July 2021                        10.30am – 4.30pm

Final Rehearsal and Live Streamed Concert

Venue: St Andrew’s Hall, Norwich NR3 1AU

Rehearsal                                          Thursday 22nd July 2021              10.30am – 12.00pm

Sound Check                                    Thursday 22nd July 2021              1.00pm – 2.30pm

Live streamed performance           Thursday 22nd July 2021              3.30pm – 4.30pm

How much does it cost?

The cost of the course is £110:00 per student.

Can I apply for financial support to attend?

No student who is resident in Norfolk will be denied access to workshops on financial grounds, as the Friends of NCYO provide support for players via bursaries and scholarships. Please select the bursary application option on the application form.

How do I apply?

Places will be limited and application is open to all Norfolk Musicians of approx. grade 6+ standard.
