Music Appreciation Tutor Vacancy September 2020 – (This post is now closed)

NCYM are seeking a dynamic and inspiring tutor to teach and help develop our programme of support for present and potential GSCE/A level students at our thriving centre. We are keen to develop provision for music technology and experience of teaching this would be desirable

Norfolk Centre for Young Musicians (NCYM) is an exciting, vibrant and accessible Saturday music centre based at the City of Norwich School.

8 to18 year olds from a range of backgrounds, have individual lessons on almost any instrument and engage in a vast range of group-based learning experiences to develop rounded musicianship, social and personal skills. Students have learner-centered timetables and access 25 ensembles including a range or choirs, strings programme, jazz bands and an orchestra. NCYM supports young musicians to perform, create, improvise and collaborate to the highest levels. Each year we have students move onto leading UK conservatoires and universities to continue their creative journey.

We are also part of a national network of 7 similar centres over seen by Guildhall School of Music & Drama, based in London and have links to Barbican Centre, Europe’s largest art centre.
