We’re accepting students for September 2021 entry. The new term will start on Saturday 18 September. If you’re interested in joining us this summer term, then please get in touch as late applications may be considered, depending on course capacity.

Sign up to our free day of workshops on Saturday 10 July, where you can meet fellow musicians, hear from students and tutors and work with young professionals from world-leading Guildhall School.

Core Curriculum

Core curriculum covers a whole day of activities and performance opportunities with other young musicians to include:

• Choice of 33 instrumental and vocal ensembles

• Workshops by visiting artists from the Guildhall School and other professional musicians

• Access to additional online classes and workshops with professional musicians

• Support for GCSE/A level music students and music technology/production

• Use of the Guildhall streaming site to upload recordings and performances

• The opportunity to take part in musical activities with other CYM centres across the UK

• Support for those wishing to pursue their musical studies to HE level

• Access to apply for a place on the Guildhall Young Artists bursary scheme

Price £24.00 per week, £240.00 per term 

Full Curriculum +1

As per core curriculum, but with an additional 30 min individual lesson with one of our professional tutors.

Price £44.00 per week, £440.00 per term 

Full Curriculum +2

As per core curriculum, but with 2 additional 30 min individual lessons with our professional tutors.

Price £64.00 per week, £640.00 per term 

Ensembles only

This is an option for more experienced musicians (post grade 5) who would like to play in one or more of the NCYM ensembles.

Price £12.00 per ensemble per week, £120.00 per ensemble per term

Music Starts Here! – New music course for young beginners

A starter music course designed to encourage children to explore the joy of making music.

Singing, rhythm and movement activities teach an instinctive connection between what young musicians do with their hands, their voices, their eyes and their ears to make music.

  • Group 1 – ‘Trills’  (Age 4 -5)
  • Group 2 – ‘Grace Notes’  (Age 6-7)

‘Music Starts Here’ will run Saturdays 11:45 – 12:45 during term time. The programme allows young musicians to progress to learning an instrument and join the full programme at NCYM.
